Friendship, understanding and good fellowship between the people of Australia and Asia

Australian Friends of Asha - Virtual Fundraising Event - Wednesday, 3 February 2021 5:15 pm

Supporting the internationally acclaimed Dr Kiran Martin, Founder and Director of the Asha Society in India, Australian Friends of Asha have a particular focus on education as a means to break the cycle of poverty for those living in Delhi slums.

Join us to hear from: Hon Julia Gillard AC, Hon Julie Bishop, Hon Barry O'Farrell AO High Commissioner to India and Shemara Wikramayanake CEO Macquarie Group as they give their special perspectives on this organisation addressing the needs of a vulnerable population.

The event will feature a live cross to Dr Kiran Martin, and to Delhi to check in with the 'Corona Warriors', community members who have been working tirelessly with compassion and kindness for the slum communities in Asha's reach since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic.

Dr Martin will also update us on the extraordinary achievements of Asha's students, graduating from school in the toughest of circumstances and heading to Delhi University.

This virtual event is free online, please register to receive a link.
