Friendship, understanding and good fellowship between the people of Australia and Asia

Happy Chinese New Year

Dear Members of the Australian Asian Association of Victoria,

Welcome to the Lunar Year of the Ox, from the AAA President and Committee.

Your Committee met by Zoom this week, to update plans for 2021. Our first activity for the year will be Lunch on Sunday, 21 March 2021 12:30Pm at the Dunyazad Lebanese Restaurant, 329 Doncaster Road, Balwyn North. Members who had Lunch there with AAA once before will remember the lovely Middle Eastern decor and the large “Arabian Nights” mural on the Restaurant wall. These Lunches/Dinners are the main Fundraisers for our Language Awards, as we no longer have any Government discretionary funding; so do promote our Dinners amongst your friends.

We said a fond Farewell to the Consul General for Japan, Mr Matsunaga at the end of last year and await news of the arrival of the new Consul General.

Thank you to All who updated their Membership Fees by the end of January, however there is still time to do it. Naturally, any donations will be acknowledged in writing. Committee Member, Sonja Sasse set up our Facebook site last year, so do join and keep up to date with other AAA friends and supporters.

Once again, a very Happy New Year to you All.

Mary R. Kelleher

President, Australian Asian Association of Victoria Inc. and AAA Committee.
